The Cotswolds: The Perfect Backdrop for Your Child’s Portraits

The Cotswolds is renowned for its picturesque charm; with rolling hills, quaint villages and stunning architecture. As a local photographer, I’ve spent countless hours exploring the hidden gems of this beautiful area, from quiet woodland trails to vibrant flower fields and historic landmarks.

My love for child photography actually started during the COVID lockdowns. Like many parents, I was looking for ways to keep myself and my son entertained during the restrictions. We began venturing out with my camera, exploring the incredible scenery the Cotswolds has to offer. It became our little daily adventure, discovering unique spaces tucked away in the countryside and snapping pictures as we went.

These outings sparked something in me. Watching my son interact with the world around him, opening my eyes to how much storytelling could happen in a single frame. It wasn’t just about taking photos; it was about capturing his personality, the joy of those moments and the stunning backdrop we were lucky enough to have right on our doorstep.

That’s what made me fall in love with child photography. The Cotswolds wasn’t just where we lived - it became the perfect canvas for capturing those fleeting moments of childhood.

Now, as a professional photographer, I bring that same sense of discovery and creativity to every session. I know where to find the best spots and how to work with the ever-changing weather - some of my favourites being misty mornings, frosty landscapes, or golden/dappled sunlight, to create beautiful, artistic portraits.

When you book a session with me, you’re not just getting a professional photographer; you’re getting someone who truly knows and loves the Cotswolds with an expertise in capturing your child’s unique personality amongst these beautiful surroundings.
