Capturing the Magic of World Book Day

Hey World Book Day Parents!

This year, I took the magic of storytelling one step further by creating not one, not two, but three book characters through photography!

I had so much fun bringing these characters to life. Not just through costumes but by creating their little worlds for each photo. Every storybook world has its own feel and I wanted to reflect that in the location, lighting, and little details that made each character feel like they had stepped straight out of the pages.

From choosing the perfect backdrops to playing with props that fit each story’s mood, this was a creative challenge that reminded me just how much photography and storytelling go hand in hand. If your child is dressing up this World Book Day, why not take a little inspiration from this? Think beyond the costume - add a prop, pick a setting that fits the character’s world, and have fun capturing the magic.
