Back To School

📚 Alternative Back to School Image 🍎

As the first day of school approaches, I wanted to share a different kind of back-to-school image that represents SEN (Special Educational Needs) families who are still fighting for a suitable school placement for their children. Next week, while many kids will be heading off to school with excitement, some may be going to schools that may not meet their needs, or maybe to a special school far away from home because it was the only option available.

And then there are others, like my son, who won’t be starting school at all. Whether that’s just for this year, or they’ve decided to opt out and homeschool instead.

It can be tough to see all the happy back-to-school photos when you’re in the midst of this battle or navigating a different path. So today, I’m sharing an image to represent all the families who know what it’s like to go through this process and may be feeling a bit down as the official start of school draws near. We’re in this together, and we’ll keep advocating for the support and placement our children deserve!
